White House Down: Emmerich puts everything back in ruins
One can not say of star director Roland EmmerlichThat he squeamish deal with American sanctuaries. The White House in Washington already served as the setting for countless movies - but never as spectacular as at Roland Emmerich.
Behind it can certainly 'Olympus Has Fallen' with Gerard Butler hide that is currently running in the German cinemas. After 'Independence Day' and '2012 'returns the successful director for his next blockbuster' White House Down ' back into the center of power back.
This time, however, threatens - as previously reported - no danger from space or from apocalyptic forces of nature, but of a paramilitary group that wants to bring the U.S. president in their violence.
Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx play the lead roles in this adrenaline-fueled action thriller. We have the latest pictures and the new trailer. German theatrical release is the 5th September.
And that's why it works: The Washington police officer John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just taken the chance for the Secret Service as a bodyguard of President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx) to work. Because he wants to teach his daughter the bad news gently, he takes her on a tour of the White House.
Suddenly, the entire building complex was stormed and occupied by a heavily armed paramilitary group. While the government falls into chaos and all are running out of time, it is up to Cale, the President to rescue his daughter and the country.
